Installing the lamp always requires a lamp socket for its power supply and adjustment. In older terrariums the fittings for fluorescent tubes are often permanently installed. Here you only need to snap the tubes into place. Modern terrariums are equipped with so-called spotlights or energy-saving spot lamps. These have the advantage that the light can be directed as required instead of evenly illuminating the whole area.
