JBL Top 3 products for saving energy

The subject of energy saving is now a firm feature of hobby aquaristics, but unfortunately, some aquarium owners are getting rid of their aquariums in the mistaken belief that their aquarium consumes a lot of electricity. This is not the case! In our brochure "How to save energy in the aquarium" JBL explains which measures really save energy and which are just fairy tales. The brochure is also available online at JBL Folheto Poupar energia

Of the 1500 JBL products, these three are the best energy savers:

  1. JBL LED SOLAR NATUR: The LED lamps from JBL are extremely bright and therefore offer you the simple options of reducing the light intensity and thus the power consumption, either with the remote control (included) or with a JBL app (via the separate JBL LED SOLAR CONTROL). Measurements have shown that dimming by 2 levels still provides 83 % of the maximum light output (1800 lux at a distance of 9 cm), but consumes only 25.4 W of electricity.
  2. JBL CRISTAL PROFI e external filter: The JBL filter series has been optimised in such a way that a special impeller has significantly reduced power consumption at high pump performance. Compared to external filters from other manufacturers, energy savings of 50-60 % (depending on the manufacturer) are possible. Surprisingly, an insulating aquarium underlay (JBL AquaPad) comes last in the efficiency ranking when it comes to saving energy. The aquarium loses most of its energy (temperature) via the water surface. The insulating aquarium underlay does help a little, but the heat saving effect is less than 5 %.

It also helps to switch off the substrate heating at night and lower the water temperature by 1-2 °C, but only to at least 23 °C, and only if your aquarium inhabitants can tolerate it.
