Today's article not only sees the start of a new series of articles, but also of our presence on TikTok . Here you can get to know JBL in short video sequences and always have the latest information hot off the press. Our student employee Moritz is taking up his role as "The JBL Intern" and we are giving you the opportunity to gain an insight into the JBL organisation and to learn about everything Moritz experiences during his 22 weeks at JBL. He will be your eyes and ears and will share his impressions and insights with you openly, honestly and unfiltered.
You can access the information not only on the myJBL blog ( Blogue ), but also on our social media channels. On Instagram and TikTok especially, there’ll be a chance to experience stories with clips that allow a real look behind the scenes. Whether it’s Research, Production or Logistics, you can follow it live. Even during these Corona times when any kind of visit to us is impossible, we’ve been able to find a way to film and document the areas under observance of all the safety precautions, in order to enable a virtual visit for you.
Feel free to ask questions or request specific topics. We’ll make them reality with the JBL Intern. At this point I would like to wish you lots of fun and hand over to Moritz.
Your Matthias Wiesensee
My first impressions
Hello everybody!
My name is Moritz, I'm 24 years old and I've been an intern in "Online Marketing" at JBL since October.
I’m studying business administration in Bavaria and my course involves completing an internship for one semester.
It was clear to me from the outset that I would prefer a company that deals with my great passion - aquaristics - to gain my first practical experience.
And before I started, naturally, I wondered what I would expect at JBL.
What is the hierarchy in the company? How many people work in the respective departments? How are the tasks distributed? Are all departments of the company represented at one location or is there some outsourcing? Questions, questions, questions...
On 1 Oct 2020 at 8 o'clock in the morning it was finally time to start.
My initial nerves evaporated as soon as I entered the building.
This was due to the friendliness at reception and of course the impressive 1300 l aquarium in the entrance area (you can find out more about this under JBL Online Meets Offline Vol. 4 - 24 Hours Influencer Days ).
I knew immediately - this is the place for me!
At the beginning we had to sort out a few formalities, such as data protection information, confidentiality obligations, personnel forms and information about the company pandemic plan.
Then I was taken to what would become my workplace for the next 5 months.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the doors to every office were open. Even those of the general manager and son of the company's founder, Roland Böhme, who I also met when I joined.
It was clear from the start that familiarity is very important here.
This was further confirmed to me by the first meeting with my contact person Matthias Wiesensee.
He suggested we use the familiar German “du” form, which immediately made me feel I belonged.
And before I found out what my duties would be, Matthias took me on a short tour of the JBL premises.
My next blog post will give you more details about this tour.
Here is a small foretaste of the company's premises by "hyperlapse".
