Artemia salina is a small crustacean found in saline lakes worldwide. It has the special property of laying eggs that can survive dry for about a year. If these eggs get back into salt water, the young crustaceans (nauplii) hatch and grow into adult crustaceans with a length of 1.5 cm. JBL offers eggs and breeding equipment for culturing the brine shrimps in the JBL Artemio range.
JBL PRONOVO ARTEMIO contains large, gently freeze-dried Artemia crustaceans. They are eagerly eaten by practically all fish species and also have a high nutritional value. Unlike live and frozen food, there is no risk of introducing diseases or unwanted bacteria into the aquarium. It is also not necessary to pour off salt water as with live Artemia when using freeze-dried Artemia.
The JBL PRONOVO ARTEMIO "chunks" float on the water surface because of their buoyancy. The fish can bite off smaller chunks there. Alternatively, the chunks can be pressed slightly in the water so that their buoyancy is reduced.
JBL PRONOVO ARTEMIO is a very welcome change in the diet of both freshwater and marine fish.
JBL PRONOVO ARTEMIO contains only large, vacuum freeze-dried Artemia crustaceans, without additives or preservatives. This process preserves the valuable ingredients of the brine shrimps.
To expand the diet of ornamental fish, supplementing their main diet with freeze-dried foods is highly recommended. The following types of food are available for this purpose: JBL NOVO DAPH (water fleas), JBL NOVO ARTEMIO (brine shrimps), JBL NOVO FEX (tubifex), JBL NOVO FIL (red blood worms).
