  • Perfect for the plant care in freshwater aquariums. Its porous structure promotes the growth of roots. Suitable for digging fish
  • Nutrient buffer with high iron content. Is capable of storing excess nutrients, to release them again when needed. The high iron content is absorbed by plant roots
  • Activates the soil flora by motivating the quick and effective colonisation of beneficial ground bacteria. This inhibits the growth of unwanted algae, reducing the work-load on the filter and ensuring crystal-clear water

Product information

Successful plant care:
The natural substrate activates the soil flora and is ideal for plant care. The nutrient buffer with battery effect (releases nutrients until it is depleted and can be reloaded through new fertilisation) is water-neutral and rounded. As a result it is ideally suited for digging fish species, such as cat fish and loaches.

Combination with long-term nutrient substrate:
A supplement with JBL ProFlora AquaBasis plus as long-term nutrient substrate with JBL Manado Dark as a covering layer guarantees vigorous and healthy plant growth even for very demanding plants.

Use:
Rinse briefly with lukewarm tap water before use to remove any abrasion rubbed off during transport.

Are the initial If iron flowers (flos ferri) harmful to invertebrates?

No, because the iron is already oxidised and no longer freely available in the water. Plants, however, can reabsorb it through their roots if the iron flowers are not removed or completely stirred into the soil.

Why do brown stains form on the bottom after inserting JBL Manado Dark?

JBL Manado Dark is a natural product. This may initially lead to a slightly increased iron content and raised hardness values, which will normalise in the course of several water changes. In soft water a harmless iron efflorescence can occur. Rinse JBL Manado Dark briefly with tap water before use to remove any abrasion rubbed off during transport.

If iron flowers (flos ferri) occur, you can rest assured. There is no danger for your invertebrates and fish. Plants absorb iron through their roots. You can siphon the iron flowers with a fine air hose, stir them into the soil and change 50% of the water every 2nd day for the first 10 days. This reduces the effect.

Ich nutze diesen Bodengrund in meinem Aquarium seit 3 Jahren und habe keinerlei Probleme feststellen können. Die schwarze Farbe gefällt mir immer noch super.

Einzig das Einpflanzen ist etwas fummlig zu Beginn. Nach einiger Zeit wird es aber immer einfacher. Der Boden wir "schwerer".

Für mich ein sehr schöner Bodengrund den ich jetzt schon lange drinn habe. Was schön ist das dieser Bodengrund Nährstoffe speichern kann und dann nach Bedarf wieder ab gibt. Kleiner Minuspunkt ist die etwas längere Waschezeit aber das ist es mir bei diesem schönen Bodengrund Wert.

Sehr schöner Bodengrund Körnung ist optimal. Flanken finden schnell halt und wachsen gut an.

Die Farbe ist eher ein Schiefer grau.

Kleiner Nachteil: Der Bodengrund muss echt Lage gespült werden. Das Spülwasser war schwarz. Hoffe das der Grund mich gefärbt wurde.

Ich muss ehrlich sagen, optisch für mich, eine der schönsten Kies Sorten. Ich habe mittlerweile in fast allen Becken entweder Manado Dark oder Sansibar dark drin.

Ein Vorteil, grade bei großen Becken, ist das Gewicht. Er ist auf jeden Fall leichter als "normaler" Kies.

Aber einen negativen Punkt habe ich leider und das ist die "Sauberkeit".

Ich habe 12 Becken auf einmal bestückt mit den Manado und es war echt eine riesen Aktion den Kies zu waschen.

Das ist aber auch wirklich der einzige negative Punkt den ich habe.

Würde ihn immer wieder kaufen.

Ich nutze JBL Manado dark in fast allen Becken. Ich liebe diese Schwarze Optik. Einfach der beste Boden für mein Vorhaben :-) Ich habe noch keinen besseren schwarzen Bodengrund gefunden der sowohl Welsen gefällt, als auch das Scape schön aussehen lässt.

Ich habe diesen Bodengrund in fast allen Becken. Pflanzen wachsen darin gut an, sieht sehr hübsch aus und ist nicht zu grob und nicht zu fein.

Gut durchwaschen, dann gibt es eigentlich kaum Trübung zu Beginn. Man darf nur nicht erschrecken, wenn der Boden rötlich wird, es kann zu Eisenausblühungen kommen. Die verschwinden aber ohne Zutun.

Sehr schöner Bodengrund.

Farbe: nicht tiefschwarz sondern Schieferfarben bis tiefbraun. Durchsetzt mit dunkelbraunen Stücken. Sieht sehr natürlich aus.

Waschen: unbedingt! Ich hab nur einmal gewaschen, dauerte 3 Tage bis das Wasser klar wurde. Geduld, Geduld! Danach aber keine Trübung durch aufwirbeln.

Leichtigkeit: ja er ist leichter als Kies, aber es schwimmt nicht auf. Pflanzen zu verankern ist zuerst etwas schwieriger als in Kies aber wenn die Luftblasen nach drei Tagen aus dem Boden verschwunden sind geht es ganz gut.

Reinigung: mit Mulmabsauger sehr gut machbar! Keine Trübung mehr.

Fische und ihr Verhalten: Neonfische Lieben Dunkeln Bodengrund. Sie waren noch nie so schön. Mein 20 Jahre alter Wels ist begeistert und wühlt im Boden. Ohne das Wolken entstehen. Pflanzen mit Schieferplatten und Wurzeln eingefasst und sie bleiben im Boden. Mal sehen wer gewinnt bei der Gestaltung des Beckens.

Pflanzenwachstum: bei mir sehr gut. Bodenheizung mit einer Schicht JBL PROFLORA AquaBasis plus.

Zusammengefasst: der schönste Bodengrund den ich in meine 40 Jahren Aquaristik gehabt habe.

Eine absolute Empfehlung für jeden, der gerne einen dunklen Bodengrund Im Aquarium / Aquascape hat. Die Körnung ist nicht zu groß oder zu klein.

2 mal abwaschen, bevor das Manado Kies ins Becken kommt, dann wird auch nichts trüb.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails).
