Product information

Algae in the water
Poor light conditions, over-fertilisation or even a surplus of nutrients can have negative effects on the aquarium water and may promote the growth of algae. Floating algae lead to green, bacteria to white clouding.

Crystal-clear and healthy water
The JBL water clarifier eliminates cloudiness caused by bacteria and floating algae. The aquarium water passes through the sturdy, UV-resistant casing of the clarifier. The reflection of the UV radiation kills off bacteria, other germs and floating algae as the water passes through. This can also help to eliminate persistent algae, such as thread algae, since their spores are also largely killed off.

No harmful side effects
no change of the water values
no negative influence on the essential
cleansing bacteria in the filter

Easy to install
Connect the water clarifier to the external filter. Simple assembly because inlet and outlet are on the same side.

Safe
The JBL UV-C clarifier is TÜV tested and has a safety switch for an automatic switch off, when the device is opened. The casing is UV-resistant and sturdy with 4 mm PE reinforced walls.

FAQ
JBL AquaCristal UV-C: Can I leave the UV-C water clarifier running while using remedies?

Always switch off the UV-C water clarifier while using remedies.

JBL AquaCristal UV-C: Does a UV-C water clarifier heat up my tank water?

It is relatively unlikely that a UVC water clarifier will heat up tank water, at least to the extent you have indicated. The so-called delta temperature, that is the difference in temperature between the temperature setting and the temperature actually reached, as well as the room temperature, would be important for an assessment.

JBL AquaCristal UV-C: When is non-stop operation of the burner advisable?

Particularly if you are experiencing trouble with bacterial infections of the animals, non-stop operation of the UV-C water clarifier is advisable. This is the only way to achieve effective reduction of the density of microbes in the water. If no diseases are present, operation can be limited to 12 h per day.

JBL AquaCristal UV-C: You can see violet-blue light on the sides. Is that harmful for me?

The light coming out of the connectors and shimmering lightly through the casing is not harmful for humans and no longer contains any UV-C radiation.

JBL AquaCristal UV-C: Does the ultraviolet light destroy active ingredients of my aquatic plant fertiliser?

UVC light degrades the chelators in the fertilizers, which prevent the precipitation of trace elements such as iron, among others. Therefore, when using a UVC water clarifier, it is advisable to change over to daily fertilisation. The standard dose needs to be converted into a daily dose at the beginning. It may also be necessary to increase the fertiliser dose slightly. Iron should be detectable in traces at least prior to each subsequent application of fertiliser. Vitamins and other higher grade organic compounds may likewise be broken down. Therefore, when using vitamins, it is advisable to add the fertilizer with the food twice a week.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.

JBL GmbH & Co. KG provides this service free of charge, and it is easy to activate or deactivate.
