Healthy fish – healthy aquarium
It’s not only people who feel discomfort, fish can too.
Stress in fish is caused by incompatible species being put together in one tank, overpopulation, an unsuitable diet, the wrong temperature, quarantines that are not upheld when animals are added to the tank, or water pollution (elevated nitrate levels) due to insufficient or disturbed filtering (flow rate too strong/weak). Stress factors can be discerned by such symptoms as apathy, hiding, loss of colour, refusal to take in food or accelerated breathing despite sufficient oxygen content.

Improving respiration
The oxygen released by JBL Ektol cristal relieves respiration and reduces the penetration of harmful ions, such as nitrite, through the gills into the organism. JBL Ektol cristal supports medical treatment for parasites such as single-celled animals (ciliates, bacteria) in the mucous membrane of fish.

Accelerated recovery
JBL Ektol cristal stimulates the fish to accelerate regeneration of the mucous membrane. JBL Ektol cristal promotes the stability of the fish by adjusting the salt content, and is particularly effective for live-bearing fish which stem from brackish water areas or are accustomed to harder water in captivity.

Can I use two different medications at the same time?

Unless otherwise indicated in the instructions for use, the simultaneous use of two different medications is not possible and we strongly advise against it. Toxic cross reactions and undesirable side effects, such as oxygen deficiency or nitrite, cannot be ruled out. If your fish suffer from a primary infection and further secondary infections, always treat the primary infection or disease with the highest stress factor for the animal. Finish a treatment with the correct dosage in accordance with the instructions and then start the second medication. After the treatment or between two treatments, filter the aquarium water over activated carbon for 24 hours to remove any residual medication. The activated carbon need then to be disposed of properly. Any medical treatment is also a stress factor for your fish, so be careful not to overburden your animals and only treat them after a thorough diagnosis.

Can I use JBL EktolCristal in combination with other medications?

As support for medical treatments:

Administer 1 level teaspoon (approx. 5 g) of JBL Ektol cristal per 50 l of water (0.1 g/l) simultaneously with medications to treat ectoparasites, bacteria or fungi (unless indicated otherwise) on the 1st and 3rd days (total amount 0.2 g/l). In severe cases, a third dose can be added on the 5th day (total amount = 0.3 g/l). The animals will normally show improvement after 2 doses. If necessary, follow-up doses can be added as described above. 50 % of the water should be changed prior to the follow-up application.

We advise against combination treatment with medications containing copper, in which case water changes of at least 75 % would need to be done prior to the treatments.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.
