JBL Now In Its Third Generation

When Joachim Böhme founded JBL in Ludwigshafen in 1960, he could only hope that his company would remain in family ownership. When his son, Roland Böhme, took over in 1991, the second generation was assured. Exactly 30 years later, on January 4, 2021, it was time for JBL to enter its third generation with Stella Kaltenmeier-Böhme, Roland Böhme's daughter, at the helm. Her father will assist her as Strategic Managing Director.

Stella Kaltenmeier-Böhme completed her Master's degree in "International SME Management" and then worked for four years in a medium-sized company in Heidelberg. At JBL, she carried out several internships in almost all departments. One of the most important experiences was a further six months in the JBL field service, during which she got to know the retail landscape of the pet industry. She has been running an aquarium since she was a girl and gained her first knowledge of aquaristic research in the rainforest on the JBL Venezuela Expedition in 2016. She is looking forward to expanding this knowledge on the upcoming expedition to Colombia in 2022.

At JBL, expanding digitalisation is at the top of her agenda. She is particularly impressed by the low staff turnover at JBL. Stella Kaltenmeier-Böhme has known a lot of the employees since she was a child and has watched as their careers have developed. Her two brothers have also joined the company as shareholders. The whole JBL team is delighted that JBL is remaining in family ownership.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.
