Our 2nd day was superb!

The cenotes are unbelievable! In the middle of the jungle, you suddenly come upon a huge hole in a ground and then discover a crystal-clear lake inside.

Cenote Ponderosa: We found red-eared sliders (Trachemys scripta elegans), 2 species of cichlid and courting sailfin mollies (Poecilia velifera) in the water. It makes you feel like you're in an aquarium. Under the lakes, you find the world's largest cave systems, parts of which are suited for diving.

My boss, Roland Böhme, was excited and anxious at the same time about this part of the expedition. Diving deep in caves where you don't see any light when you switch off your dive light and can only find your away back to the exit by following a guideline takes some getting used to. But we were generously rewarded with crystal clear water - which, by the way, was anything but warm - and fantastic caves. Wow, what an amazing experience!

You might like to watch the movie, Sanctum, which lets you experience what diving in caves feels like on a TV screen. Michael Gruss was barely able to tear himself away from the fish. A fan of livebearing killifish, he was completely in his element in the cenotes. Soon, we'll be returning to the Playa del Carmen beach, dinner and time to look back on a superb day.

The weather at 3:00 PM: Sunny, slightly cloudy. Air temperature: 28.4 °C

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.

JBL GmbH & Co. KG provides this service free of charge, and it is easy to activate or deactivate.
