JBL at the Vivarium 2023

Last weekend, more than 12,000 visitors strolled through the Vivarium exhibition hall. We were there too and welcomed some of the visitors to our booth.

What is the Vivarium?

Vivarium is a consumer trade fair for all aspects of vivaristics. With an area of 12,000m² and 206 exhibitors, Vivarium is the largest trade fair in the Benelux region. Over the two days of the fair visitors can enjoy pleasant conversations at the booths of the numerous exhibitors, get an idea of the latest trends in their hobby and purchase the products and goods at trade fair prices. From technology to plants, Vivarium and its exhibitors have a wide selection.

JBL with its own booth

We were also amongst the exhibitors and, as always, it was an absolute success. The many visitors to our booth took the opportunity and were inspired by our wide range of products. From our unique PRONOVO feed to the tried and tested PROFLORA CO2 systems, everything to make the aquarist's heart beat faster was there. Whether answering questions or just sharing a nice chat, our wonderful field sales colleagues were there, offering their expertise to visitors.

This year's Aquascaping Contest - Tribute to Filipe Oliveira

In addition to the very many booths, there were numerous competitions and workshops at Vivarium. For example, AquaFlora organised this year's European Aquascaping Contest, where the challenge was to set up a small tank (approx. 30 litres) with a tree as the layout. This was in memory of the great Portuguese aquascaper Filipe Oliveira, who sadly died too early. Filipe Oliveira was known for creating trees under water, so this contest was a fitting tribute to his memory.

Of course, there were also countless fantastic aquariums on display:

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.

JBL GmbH & Co. KG provides this service free of charge, and it is easy to activate or deactivate.
