As a manufacturer of hobby products for the three areas of aquarium, terrarium and pond, supporting young people is a major concern for JBL. This is why we stood behind the "Young Researchers" prize, which was awarded to young people at the Science Day in the Schönbrunn Zoo. The event was organized by ÖVVÖ, the Austrian association for vivaristics and ecology.
In the Haus des Meeres (House of Oceans), two prizes were awarded, each endowed with 500 euros. 18-year-old Melanie Schwayer, a student at the LFS Hollabrunn, won over the jury of international experts with her thesis on the oriental fire-bellied toad to receive the title of “Young Researcher”.
The second award, the vivaristics prize, went to the ISV (Internationale Schildkröten Vereinigung) - for its educational work with the general public. This was accepted by Chairman Gerhard Schaffer.
We are always happy to support any active dedication to these hobbies in any way we can. Tell us about your involvement by giving your examples in the comments.
