Aquarium air pumps help you to increase the oxygen concentration in the aquarium and to ensure the health and the well-being of the fish. The reasons for the application are diverse: in case of disease or algae treatment, to aerate heavily planted aquariums during the night, or to operate fountains. In the following video you will see how easy it is to install and connect one of the ProSilent Air pumps .
This is how easy it is:
- Place air pump according to the notes in the instructions in a safe position or hang it from the wall
- Cut air hose to a suitable length and connect it to the air pump and the air stone
- Install check valve at a convenient place
- Connect plug to the power supply and adjust amount of air at the air volume control, as required
Tips for the use
At the bottom of each ProSilent air pump there is a small air filter, where you need to remove dirt and contaminants on a regular basis. The air stones can also clog and can become blocked by lime. An awareness of these two points can help avert a deterioration in performance.
Afraid of noice
To avoid resonance transmission and to minimise noise the PROSILENT® air pumps have been developed according to the latest scientific knowledge and equipped with a noise suppression chamber and an extra thick housing. Nevertheless the operating noises can, even under optimal conditions, be audible inside quiet rooms, especially during the night. An air flow reduction at the air volume control significantly reduces the noise level.
Please never run one air connection in “idle mode” with models with two air connections (without attached hose with air stone or similar)! This leads to premature wear and tear of the diaphragm and increases the noise level.
