Product information

Applications:

- Quick filter: For when dirt has been stirred up after work in the aquarium and the dirt is to be filtered out quickly to relieve the actual filter

- Protective function: For when the JBL ProFlow pump is used in the aquarium, e.g. as a flow pump, with a strainer on the intake tract. This strainer could be too coarse for young fish or very small shrimps. With the foam cartridge the suction is distributed over a larger area and even the smallest animals cannot be sucked in

- Filter support: If the actual filter does not result in really clean water, it can be supported by using JBL ProFlow pumps and the quick filter cartridge.

Cleaning:
For many months it is sufficient to rinse the dirty filter sponges under lukewarm running water and then inoculate them with filter bacteria (JBL FilterStart) before using them again. However, as mechanical cleaning NEVER results in a perfect clean and dirt will remain in the filter sponge, we recommend you replace the filter sponges about every 6 months. If you place a freshly cleaned filter sponge in a glass of clean water overnight, you will be able to smell how much dirt is still present in the supposedly clean sponge the next morning!

Biological inoculation:
Initial colonisation of filter material with cleansing bacteria takes about 1-2 weeks in freshwater and twice as long in seawater. If the filter material was already in use, the time for a "recolonisation" is doubled, as recolonisation does not take place so easily on dead bacterial lawns. The addition of concentrated cleansing bacteria such as in JBL FilterStart shortens the biological start-up time to about 24 hours. Another benefit is when you fill the existing settlement space in the filter material with beneficial bacteria, pathogenic germs find no place to spread.

FAQ
How do I prevent shrimps from being sucked into my external filter?

To prevent shrimps from being sucked into your external filter (such as the JBL CRISTALPROFI e greenline models), and to secure the intake strainer, simply slide the ProFlow sf quick filter cartridge over the intake strainer of your JBL InSet. This will prevent even baby shrimps from being sucked in. Please note that the sponge can quickly become clogged with heavy dirt and therefore needs to be cleaned several times a week. Otherwise the performance of your external filter will be severely reduced.

How often should you wash out the filter sponges?

The sponges in your internal and external filter are available with fine and coarse pore sizes. They mechanically retain particles such as food remains, faeces, leaves and algae. The bacteria which settle there decompose the substances retained. This means that the filter performance will decrease in time. You can rinse your JBL CRISTALPROFI filter sponges up to twice under lukewarm water (25 °C). Please do not wash too thoroughly, as this will cause the important cleansing bacteria to die off and be lost. The sponges should be replaced after approx. 2 months. When you rinse them, you will find spots where you cannot remove the dirt. This indicates it is time to replace them.

Realiza la función de filtro combinado con la bomba de movimiento. La única pega es a la hora de conectarlo a la misma ya que cuesta hacer que encaje la parte interior del filtro con la bomba.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.
