Product information

Nitrite (NO2): Forms the second stage of nitrogen decomposition. Is generated by bacteria from ammonium (NH4) and ammonia (NH3) and further decomposed to nitrate (NO3). As nitrite reduces the transport of oxygen in the blood of the fish, it is usually fatal from 0.4 mg/l. The filter material JBL Clearmec plus binds nitrite to the material. It does not need to be biologically degraded.

Nitrate: Is generated from nitrite by bacteria and is broken down by bacteria to nitrogen gas in the absence of oxygen (in the filter). This gas then escapes from the aquarium water (denitrification). Nitrate is not toxic to fish, but it promotes algae growth. The filter material JBL Clearmec plus binds nitrate to the material, which does not need to be biologically degraded.

Phosphate: Phosphate is created by dead algae & plant residues as well as from fish excrements and uneaten fish food. It is not harmful for fish, but it promotes the growth of algae. Partial water changes, removing plant remains and the right amount of fish and food keep phosphate levels low. JBL Clearmec plus binds phosphates to the filter material.

FAQ
What happens if I don't replace JBL ClearMec after 3 months as indicated ?

After the expiry date, JBL ClearMec is no longer able to bind nitrates and phosphates. Besides this, the surface of the material shrinks so that the material is no longer able to act as a filter.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.
