JBL Osmose 120 produces a permeate with a pH level of 9.
It is not helpful to measure the pH level of osmosis water or of any water that has somehow been demineralised.
In water which has been desalted (deionised) by these means, there is no buffer system to keep the pH stable or at a certain level , i.e. the pH can become neutral, high or low within a short period of time.
Once the osmosis water has remained still for an extended period of time, the pH level usually settles at a value close to the neutral point of 7.0 or below, due to the partial drop in pressure between the carbon dioxide in the air and in the aqueous solution.
It is not until the carbonate hardness has been determined and set e.g. by using JBL Aquadur plus or by diluting with tap water containing carbonate, that a buffer system is introduced into the water, which then has a decisive effect on the pH level.
